Good morning. My name's Jonathan Stokes. I'm the Stokes in Stokes Stemle.

We get a call all the time where people ask what the value of their case is worth.
0:11
And there's really no simple answer to it. It depends on several factors.
0:14
How much are your medical bills?
0:16
Do you have any lost wages?
0:17
Did you miss any work related to the accident for going back and forth to treatment?
0:21
Has your ability to earn a living been diminished or reduced due to the accident?
0:25
What's the property damage level of your vehicle from the accident? Obviously, a fender bender is going to be worth less than a totaling of your vehicle.
0:32
I look at it like this...
0:34
There's really three things.
0:36
How much are your medical bills?
0:37
What do your medical records say?
0:39
And what venue did the accident happen in?
0:42
Obviously, if your medical bills are high, that means that the insurance company for the person at fault that caused your injuries is going to have to pay out more than if you have a single, you know, visit to a primary care doctor that costs you $150 bucks.
0:53
With your medical records, obviously, there's more pain and suffering involved with a broken bone
0:58
or a soft tissue injury like a torn rotator cuff or bulging disc that requires surgery. Those are worth more, obviously, than, you know, your typical whiplash case.
1:06
Doesn't mean that whiplash isn't worth anything. They all have value.
1:09
If you went and see a medical doctor or got medical treatment from an accident, you obviously, you have a bodily injury case.
1:15
And then the third thing is the venue. Obviously, some venues
1:18
are more pro-plaintiff than other venues. Some venues are more pro-defense than other venues.
1:24
The 'venue' is where your jury pool is going to come from.
1:27
Taking those 3 things into account...
1:28
So, taking those three things into account, what your medical bills are, what your medical records state your injuries are, and what venue the accident happened in, that will determine the value of your case.
