About Jonathan
For Jonathan Holt Stokes, accessibility is all part of the job as a personal injury attorney. “Our clients can call me anytime,” he said. “I’ll pick up in the dead of night.”
Jonathan was born in Montgomery, Alabama, and grew up in Dothan, where his parents still live. Jonathan attended high school at Dothan High. He graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He then interned for former U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions before obtaining his law degree in 2011 from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham. The law school is nationally recognized for its trial advocacy.
Jonathan Stokes worked for private law firms in the Richmond, Virginia, area after law school. He handled large class-action settlements, criminal defense cases, contracts, landlord-tenant matters, domestic cases and wrongful death litigation. After Jonathan returned to Alabama, he worked with Joshua Stemle at a personal injury law firm before the two established their own practice, Stokes Stemle LLC.
Jonathan enjoys assisting clients in need by “helping them handle their hospital bills … and holding guilty parties accountable.”
Jonathan Stokes is a member of the bar in both Alabama and Virginia. When not at work, he is an avid fan of Auburn University football and basketball. He also likes to hunt, fish, and spend time with his wife, Taylor-Lee Stokes. She’s an assistant district attorney in Chambers County, but “we’ve never actually gone against each other [in court],” he notes.
He and Joshua Stemle built their practice on a passion for how the law affects people’s lives. That passion serves them well. “We’ve got a good system and proven results,” Jonathan said.
